Spinal Tap's Derek Smalls Unveils "Gimme Some (More) Money" Music Video

Harry Shearer can't stay out of his Derek Smalls wig for long.

After releasing a solo album, Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing), as his beloved This Is Spinal Tap character last year, Shearer is back as Smalls in the music video for his LP's ninth track, "Gimme Some (More) Money."

The video features Smalls interacting with an animated world while performing the song in which he makes the case for a bigger bank account.

The Simpsons star recently announced Smalls 'Lukewarm Water Live!' West Coast tour this November. Shearer has yet to announce the live band that will be backing Smalls, but if it's anything like the cast of virtuosos and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers who guested on his album, it should be an impressive group.

"Gimme Some (More) Money" alone features David Crosby, Waddy Wachtel and Paul Shaffer. The song is a sequel of sorts to the Spinal Tap song "Gimme Some Money," which was featured in the 1984 film.

Shearer and Spinal Tap co-creators Christopher Guest and Michael McKean reunited this past April at the TriBeCa Film Festival to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the cult classic film. During a panel at the Beacon Theater they performed a short set of Spinal Tap material that featured Elvis Costello on "Gimme Some Money."
